Once the audience was seated, the platform party — including senior staff and members of LAMDA’s Board of Trustees — proceeded to the stage. Speeches were shared, celebrating the soon-to-be graduates, who will now join a global community of thousands of LAMDA alumni working across the creative industries as actors, directors and technicians.
This year’s ceremony also saw Honorary Degrees conferred on two outstanding figures. Natasha Chivers, an award-winning lighting designer and LAMDA alumna whose work has illuminated stages across the UK, was recognised for her artistry and contribution to the industry.
Acclaimed actor John Lithgow was also honoured. In a warm and reflective speech, Lithgow spoke of how his time at LAMDA shaped his extraordinary five-decade career across stage, film and television.
