• Organisation and time management - As stage manager I work closely with directors, designers and professional actors, making sure the show meets the designer's expectations, undertaking risk assessments and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed, as well as making sure all props, people and furniture are in the right place at the right time. 

• Attention to detail – When building sets and making props, I always pay close attention to detail to ensure the set is completely safe and the props look the best they can and are sturdy enough to last a run. 

• Teamwork and leadership – I work well both independently and, as part of a team, as when working in theatre it is vital to work together and co-ordinate with other departments in order to pull off a slick, well-run show. Sometimes it is necessary to take on leadership to make sure everyone is well co-ordinated and knows what they're doing. 

• Problem solving - When working in live theatre, there are often times when I’ve had to think on my feet in order to make sure the show can keep running smoothly. I also believe problem solving is vital when prop making in order to create sturdy items that look good but do not break the budget. 

• Health and safety - I always try to be aware of health and safety, as accidents and injuries may happen if you are not careful. I am first aid trained, and always looking for the safest and most efficient way to get the job done. 

• Experience with commonly used software - I use Qlab, Logic, Vectorworks and AutoCAD, for theatre productions.
