Undergraduate student loan 

If you are a UK citizen and have a place on our BA (Hons) Professional Acting or one of our Production & Technical Arts courses, you may be entitled to a government student loan.

These are funded in the same way as all other degree courses at universities or colleges in England. This means that our fees are regulated and that you have access to the same system of loans to help with tuition fees and maintenance costs via the Student Loans Company (SLC).

Maintenance Loan

This loan is paid directly into your bank account at the beginning of each term and is dependent on your household income.

For 2021 to 2022 entry, applicants could qualify for support covering up to £7,987 if they were living at home, up to £9,488 if they were living away from home, outside London or up to £12,382 if they were living away from home, in London. [All figures dependent on household income]

How to Apply for a Student Loan

Applications for these schemes should be made directly to the Student Loans Company.

Make sure you complete your application as early as possible to be assessed for the right level of financial support. 

Postgraduate Loan

If you’re starting a master’s degree, you could get a Postgraduate Master’s Loan to help with course fees and living costs. You can get up to £11,570 if your course starts on or after 1 August 2021 paid in three installments.

Funding for postgraduate loans is different if:

• you normally live in Scotland
• you normally live in Wales
• you normally live in Northern Ireland

Some funding may be available to International Students under certain circumstances, read the detailed eligibility requirements on the Gov website here.

Funding for other courses

There is no funding available if you're studying on a short course.
